CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Awards REALTOR® Dawn Dyer the Champions of Home Impact Award

Dawn Dyer received the top honors from the California Association of Realtors® for the 2025 Champions of Home Impact Awards in recognition of her work founding Housing Trust Fund Ventura County. These awards recognize REALTORS® in California who have made a significant impact on their communities through volunteer efforts.

'Dawn's remarkable compassion and dedication to funding affordable housing have profoundly impacted her community,' said C.A.R. President Heather Ozur. 'Her vision and hard work have ensured that thousands of Ventura County low-income workers, veterans, seniors and transition-aged foster youth have a place to call home and a community to thrive in. It is with great pride that we recognize her as our Champions of Home Impact Award winner, honoring her contributions that transform and influence the lives of so many in need.'

Rents in Ventura County hit record high, though rate of increase has slowed

Every July, the Ventura-based real estate firm Dyer Sheehan Group conducts a survey of apartment owners throughout the county.

It's never been more expensive to rent an apartment in Ventura County, though rents aren't going up nearly as fast as they were a few years ago. According to the July 2024 survey, the average apartment in all of Ventura County rented for $2,675 in July, 4% more than the average a year earlier.
